- Reduction of withholding tax imposed on payment for services, hire of work, certain commissions, and professional fees as below:
- From 3% to 1.5% from 1st April 2020 to 30th September 2020.
- From 3% to 2% from 1st October 2020 to 31st December 2021 (only for e-Withholding Tax)
- Eligible small and medium enterprises (SMEs) who meet the following conditions can claim a 1.5 times of interest expenses incurred on low-interest loans (soft loans) paid during the period from 1st April 2020 to 31st December 2020 for corporate income tax purposes:
- Have taxable income not more than Baht 500 million during the last 12-month period which the last day of the accounting period ended on or before 30th September 2020
- Have employees less than 200
- Register single bookkeeping
- SMEs employers can deduct 3 times of the salary costs paid to employees during the period from April 2020 to July 2020 for corporate income tax purposes under the following conditions:
- Have taxable income not more than Baht 500 million during the last 12-month period which the last day of the accounting period ended on or before 30th September 2020
- Have employees less than 200
- The eligible salary cost is for employees register with the Social Security Fund which the salary no more than Baht 15,000 per month
- The number of current employees must not less than the number of employees as of 31st December 2019.
- Expediting VAT refund for the “good exporter” as follows:
- Within 15 days for e-tax filing
- Within 45 days for paper filing
Social Security Office
On Friday (11th), the Social Security Board decided to offer financial help to employer and employees registered under its social security system who have effect due to the Covid-19 pandemic as below:
- Reduce the Social Security Contributions (SSO) for employees and employers for September – November 2020 , thus the summary SSO contribution under Section 33 are as below table :

And for self-contribution under Section 39, reduce to be THB 96 for September – November 2020 as well.
As for filing period for both contribution under Section 33 and 39 will submit within 15th of follow month.
Effective from 1st March 2020, workers who have been suspended their job due to the Covid-19 pandemic will have the benefit as below;
- workers who have suspended their jobs because their employers have folded will be given 50% of their salaries with the ceiling of up to Baht 15,000 a month for a maximum of 180 days
- workers suspended resulting from the government’s order that certain business close temporarily will also get paid 50% of their salary with the ceiling of up to Baht 15,000 a month but for a maximum of 60 days
- For medical care, the Social Security Board resolved to take care the insures patients with Covid-19 according to medical standards.
In addition, workers who have been resigned will receive 45% of their salary which the ceiling of Baht 15,000 for 90 days, while the workers who have been laid off stand to receive 70% of their wages but no more than Baht 15,000 for 200 days.
